Terms of Service

Effective August 15, 2026

These Terms explain the rules for using TechImpacts and what happens when you purchase, use credits, change plans, or cancel a subscription.

Document scope

The Terms of Service are about using and paying for TechImpacts. The Privacy Policy is about personal data and how we handle it.

Key commercial terms

Subscription charges, renewals, and one-time credit-pack purchases are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires a refund.

Pay for one period: Each charge buys access for the billing period shown at checkout.

No seven-day refund: Subscriptions, renewals, and credit packs are final except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Cancel the next renewal: Cancel anytime and keep paid access through the current period.

Know which credits expire: Subscription allowances do not roll over; purchased top-up credits do not expire.

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of TechImpacts. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the service, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy is a separate notice about personal-data handling and is not a set of commercial terms.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use TechImpacts for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. The service and your account

TechImpacts provides technology intelligence, AI-assisted analysis, and related tools. Features may change as the service develops.

You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your credentials, and activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Subscriptions, credit packs, payment, refunds, and cancellation

Subscription fees are charged in advance for the billing period shown at checkout. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment provider to charge the stated price on the initial purchase and on each renewal date until you cancel.

Credits are granted only after the payment provider confirms a successful payment. Monthly subscriptions receive their allowance after each successful monthly invoice. Annual subscriptions receive their stated allowance monthly, not as a full year of credits in advance.

Free-trial credits, when offered, are granted once at signup. If a renewal payment fails, access may temporarily continue while the payment provider retries, but no new subscription allowance is granted for an unpaid period. Some payments require additional authentication; credits are granted only after successful payment.

Subscription allowance credits expire at the end of each applicable grant period and do not roll over. Purchased top-up credits do not expire and survive subscription cancellation. We use subscription allowance credits before purchased top-up credits because the subscription allowance expires first.

Credit packs are separate one-time purchases and do not renew. The pack size and price shown at checkout apply to that purchase.

Subscription purchases, renewals, and one-time credit-pack purchases are non-refundable. We do not provide a seven-day money-back guarantee, prorated refunds, credits, or refunds for unused time or unused purchased credits, except where a refund is required by applicable law.

You may cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting support. Cancellation stops the next automatic renewal; it does not reverse the charge for the current billing period. Your paid access continues until the end of the billing period you already paid for, and you will not be charged for the following period.

If you cancel after a renewal has already been processed, that renewal remains the current paid billing period and is subject to the same non-refundable policy. Cancellation then prevents the next renewal.

Plan changes take effect at the next renewal, with no mid-cycle charge, refund, prorated credit, or partial allowance. You keep the current plan through the period already paid for.

An AI request may temporarily reserve credits before it runs. A successful request is charged for its actual usage, not the temporary reservation. If an AI provider request fails, the reservation is released and no credits are charged.

Some features require a minimum balance or enough credits to cover their maximum possible usage. A chat response can occasionally cost more than the minimum needed to start and may leave a small negative balance; further paid requests are blocked until the balance is topped up.

Refunds, payment reversals, and payment disputes may reverse credits previously granted for the affected payment. If those credits were already used, the account balance may become negative and further use may be blocked until credits are added. Credits are restored if a dispute is resolved in our favour and the payment is retained.

4. Acceptable use

Use TechImpacts only for lawful business, professional, research, or educational purposes.

  • Do not share account credentials or bypass account, credit, rate, or access limits.
  • Do not scrape, copy, resell, or redistribute the service or its content except where we have given written permission.
  • Do not interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, probe security, or use the service to harm others.
  • Do not use TechImpacts in a way that violates law or another person’s rights.

5. Content and intellectual property

TechImpacts and its software, design, branding, analysis, and original content are owned by TechImpacts Private Limited or its licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is active.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us the limited, non-exclusive rights needed to host, transmit, reproduce, and process that content only to provide, maintain, secure, and support the service. You must have the right to submit it.

6. AI-generated information

AI-generated summaries, scores, and recommendations may be incomplete or incorrect. They are provided for general information and are not legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice.

You are responsible for reviewing information and obtaining appropriate professional advice before making consequential decisions.

Information submitted to an AI feature may be processed by an AI service provider as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not submit confidential or personal data unless it is necessary and you are authorised to use it.

7. Availability, suspension, and termination

We work to keep TechImpacts available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security events, provider outages, and product changes may affect availability.

We may restrict or terminate access for a material breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, non-payment, or a security risk. You may stop using the service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

Ending an account does not automatically erase every record. Personal-data deletion and retention are governed by our Privacy Policy, including legal, transaction, security, backup, and dispute exceptions.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms.

To the extent permitted by law, TechImpacts is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our aggregate liability relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer remedies and liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or another category protected by applicable law.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. When a change materially affects your rights or an existing paid service, we will provide reasonable advance notice and apply the change prospectively unless law or urgent security needs require otherwise.

If you do not agree to a material change, you may stop using the service and cancel future renewal before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms, but does not waive rights that applicable law does not permit you to waive.

10. Governing law, disputes, and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without limiting mandatory consumer protections or forums that apply where you live. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent relief or using a regulator, consumer commission, or court where applicable law permits or requires it.

If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. These Terms, the policies they expressly reference, and any order-specific terms form the agreement for the service and do not remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
